Why Join A Computer Users’ Group?

Computer technology is very complex. The hardware is complicated and diverse. The software is also complicated and diverse. In addition, there are literally hundreds of thousands of software programs. No single individual knows how to use even a small fraction of all the software programs. Professional computer consultants and technicians admit that they only know a tiny portion of the hardware and software. To make matters worse, the hardware and software keeps changing, so that whatever you know now, may be of little value in a year or two.

So if you use a computer, sooner or later you will need help. There are various kinds of help available for computer users. Here are some of your choices:

Software programs usually have built in help files.

Reading books and manuals.

Manufacturers of hardware and software usually offer technical support (often at extra charge).

Professional technicians and consultants can be hired (often at expensive hourly rates).

Join a users’ group.

The Westchester PC Users’ Group (WPCUG) is made up of over 650 computer users of all levels of expertise from beginners to professionals. We have monthly meetings, and over two dozen workshops called SIGs (Special Interest Groups), which meet throughout each month. At the SIGs, problems are discussed and solved, knowledge is shared, and everybody learns and benefits.

Membership in the WPCUG has additional benefits.

Members get a monthly newsletter with computer articles.

A list of experts to call for help.

Members also are entitled to discounts on hardware and software, books, magazines, and lots of other things!

Free admission to PC Expo in New York City

All this and more for $40 a year for your entire family.
